LYMAN COUNTY DIRECTOR OF EQUALIZATION
The Director of Equalization (DOE) is appointed by the Board of County Commissioners.
The main duty of the Director of Equalization is to appraise real property through fair and equitable assessment for taxation purposes.
The duties of the Director of Equalization are prescribed in Title 10-3 of SD Codified Laws. The DOE must have or be able to obtain an assessor’s certificate from the SD Dept. of Revenue within one (1) year of employment. Recertification is required every five (5) years.
The DOE is also responsible for 911 addressing, Planning & Zoning, Flood Plain Administration and maintaining the Geographic Information System (GIS).

Position will be open until filled. The salary and effective date of employment will be negotiated by the County Commission and applicant.
